Clown Portrait

I didn't feel like taking two pictures and instead came up with he idea of doing my face only half as a clown. This represents me though because I can go from being very serious when I need to be and fun when I don't. Naturally, I went with a happy clown design for the fun side using CMYK as a theme that also represents my graphic design work. The background is dark to represent my past. Very few people at Aloha know about the full extent of my life before I was at aloha but it was not great at all. The darkness is to represent leaving it behind.

 

 

6x6 Update:

I'm trying out some color on with my 6x6. I will probably use the first.

Pool Table Updated:

Table colors changed slightly and both the product and reference design are combined now.

I lightened the border and made the drips somewhat more natural looking.

It might be difficult to tell on the blog, but the edges of the white "clouds" are feathered and less harsh.

I worked on the background color of my bird a bit, I always found it to be a bit too bland before. It's now a richer shade of blue.

I was going to do something about 3D printing for my final concentration but I am out of ideas... This is probably more important anyways. Medical Technology. I got my idea for this from defibulators and how we can save lives/bring people back from the dead. I'm thinking of how to implement more on this although it could be left as-is.

I think I'm going to go with the first of these four. It follows a triad color scheme with orange, green, and blue. I added the glow to separate the runners and background better.

This concentration is about how we are able to instantly share things with somebody on the other side of the planet in an instant.

Yeah...this was due a few days ago, but I'm slow! I sort of sat on this concept for a few weeks not sure about it and did something else for concentration 9 but I'm now getting around to this. The front runner(3rd from left) will have some sort of prosthetic leg, either one of the real ones used for running, or a cybernetic leg...not sure yet. I might change the grass in the background to sky, right now its just a bad Photoshop of grass. I need to enlarge the figures to hide the shadows surrounding them as well.

This is what I came up with for the art show poster. I think it is one of my best pieces! I had no idea what I was going to do for this and this just ended up coming together.

Okay, I'm a bit late on this one. My last few concentrations and for this I am doing a business card. It was really weird doing something so small after using 11x17 for most of my concentrations. Here it is:

And with this, I am two-thirds of the way done with my concentration. The theme of this one is another positive effect of technology, transportation. This is one of my favorites so far.

My concentration theme is now expanded to include positive effects of technology, and that's what my last six will be. This one is basically about the internet and how knowledge can be easily shared with others.

 

Speedometer

I was going to do something random and super colorful for this, but it wasn't coming together well and became a pain to create. Late Saturday night, when my brain would have been better off asleep, I thought of this. Sunday I procrastinated, worked, procrastinated more, lost half an hour of work, redid the work, then finished this. I got the idea for the turtle and rabbit from the icons for speed on riding lawn mowers. I have always thought they were awesome.

 

I suppose this has elements of three of the concepts we were supposed to use, although it doesn't really use a single method in a big way.
